2026 Election Calendar

The following seat shall be voted on at the Election:

• Mayor Seat 4-Year Term
• City Councilmember (Two Seats) 4-Year Terms

Candidate Filing Period
Tuesday, May 19, 2026 through Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Location & Hours For Filing:

Affidavits of Candidacy must be filed at Isanti City Hall, located at 110-1st Ave NW, Isanti, MN 55040, during regular business hours:

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On June 2, 2026, filings will be accepted until 5:00 PM.

Filing Fee:

A filing fee of $15.00 is required at the time of filing.

Primary Election Information:

 A Municipal Primary Election will be held on August 11, 2026, only if:

• More than two (2) filings are received for the Mayor seat, and/or
• More than four (4) filings are received for the City Councilmember seats.

If two (2) or fewer filings are received for the Mayor seat and four (4) or fewer filings are received for the Councilmember seats, no Municipal Primary Election will be held. In that event, the election for these offices will take place at the General Election on November 3, 2026.

Absentee Voting:

Absentee voting is administered through Isanti County. If you would like to request an absentee ballot, please reach out to Isanti County at 763-689-1644.
