Thank you for your interest in the Isanti Police Department Citizen’s Academy. The Citizen’s Academy will be an eight-week course to get an inside look of the Department’s operations. The weekly courses will consist of classroom lectures, live demonstrations, facility tours, hands-on training exercises of traffic stops, DWI investigations, defensive tactics, CPR/AED certification and live action scenarios.
These training sessions will occur every Monday, beginning on October 7, 2024, and ending November 25, 2024. They will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Some classes may go over this time by under an hour. It is strongly encouraged that you commit to attend all 8 weeks.
Please complete the application form to be considered for the upcoming class. To maximize the hands-on portion of this training, the number of participants will be limited.
A brief background check will be conducted to ensure that you meet our eligibility requirements.
You must:
- 21 years of age
- No felony convictions
- No misdemeanor arrests in the past 5 years
- No assault/domestic violence
- No weapons convictions
- Priority will be given to City of Isanti residents
