Isanti's Main Street Revitalization Moves Forward with $96,000 in State Funding - Applications are now closed and all funds have been awarded.

The City of Isanti is set to inject new life into its downtown corridor after securing a $96,000 award through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's (DEED) Main Street Economic Revitalization Program (MSERP). In partnership with the Initiative Foundation, which administers the state funds regionally, Isanti is channeling these dollars directly into local businesses to foster economic growth and renewal.

At its May 6, 2025 meeting, the Isanti Economic Development Authority (EDA) came to the consensus to move forward with the awarded funds. To ensure local businesses were aware of the opportunity and short application period, the EDA launched a communication effort that included sending postcards to eligible property owners and sharing application information on the City's Facebook page and official website. A formal press release about the program was also issued by the Initiative Foundation.

The City of Isanti EDA is proud to announce it was able to support all applicants who sought funding, distributing the full $96,000 to three key downtown properties. The specific allocations are as follows:

  • The Creamery Building: Received its full request of $75,000.
  • The HearSwell Building: Received its full request of $9,000.
  • The Rockstad Building: Received $12,000, a portion of its original $30,000 request.

The Minnesota Main Street Economic Revitalization Program makes grants to nonprofit partner organizations to fund 30% matching grants up to $750,000 to eligible recipients for eligible projects that are designed to address the greatest economic development and redevelopment needs that have arisen in communities across Minnesota since March 15, 2020.
