Verifying a License

Residents and businesses have the right to prohibit peddlers or solicitors from entering their property. Posting a “No Soliciting” sign clearly communicates this restriction. Anyone who ignores the sign is in violation.

If you're approached by a solicitor or peddler, you have the right to:

  • Ask to see their City-issued photo ID badge or certificate
  • Call the police using 9-1-1 (non-emergency) if they cannot produce valid City-issued credentials or claim to be licensed only by the State of Minnesota
